Dr. Aparna Ravichandran

Professor & Principal at MISH

Dr. Aparna Ravichandran serves as the Professor & Principal at MISH, holding a pivotal role in the institute’s leadership where she oversees both academic and administrative functions. With a dedicated focus on teaching and mentoring, Aparna possesses expertise in a wide array of subjects within the field of audiology.

She is a Masters in ASLP with an Interdisciplinary PhD. She has also completed her Masters in Psychology, MBA in HRM, Masters in Linguistics and also a PG Diploma in Applied Linguistics.

She has over 25 years of experience in teaching undergraduate and postgraduate students. Dr. Aparna held various positions as Lecturer, Reader, HOD & I/c Principal at Sweekaar Institute of Speech & Hearing, Lecturer at the Ali Yavar Jung National Institute of Speech and Hearing Disabilities (Divyangjan), Secunderabad.

She as a Professor in Audiology and excels in imparting knowledge on topics ranging from Hearing Sciences and Auditory Perception to Genetics of Hearing, Paediatric Audiology and Amplification devices ensuring students receive both practical and theoretical knowledge. Through her mentorship, she supports learners from diverse backgrounds, abilities, and aspirations, guiding them towards realizing their full potential.

She uses diverse teaching methods, including lectures, presentations and class activities to deliver curriculum. She holds regular student meetings to communicate strengths, weaknesses and areas for learning development. She has also planned and developed course curriculums based on RCI guidelines and latest trends and created presentations to deliver lecture material in classroom and online learning environments.

She is a member of BOS of ASLP, Osmania University and also Member examination board in ASLP in Bangalore University, Sri Padmavathi Mahila University, Sri Ramachandra University, MUHS,GERMS University & Jaipur University etc.

Dr Aparna has successfully guided more than 60 Master’s degree research dissertations. She has been an invited speaker at both and International and National conferences and has published articles in national & international journals. She has written two books available on Amazon. She is a reviewer for many journals and Editor for a Book series. Her key areas of research include early intervention, School readiness, Speech Perception, Amplification devices. She has also received Muktesh Award for best paper in Hearing aids in ISHACON. She has coordinated my STPs, RCI-CRE programs, seminars and Two National Conferences – ISHACON & NCED held at Hyderabad.

Dr Aparna has also contributed to professional development manuals of B.Ed.Spl.Ed of BRAOU. Dr. Aparna has many received many accolades and was awarded the Best Teacher at Sweekaar for her valuable contributions in knowledge, teaching, research and dedication.

She believes in the holistic development of the students and in serving the community with compassion and excellence.”
